(7:54pm) Listening to U2. Okay so I am on my merry way to Florida and I won't be home til next weekend. But I will be drawing new journal comics while I am away, so you'll have something to look forward to upon my return. If you get bored while I'm gone, go back and read all the old journal comics - theres almost 700 of them in the archive. (1:39am) Listening to Belle & Sebastian. I got my permanent crown today. It's smooth! Haha. The weather was awesome again today. I'm all about nice weather. There's a new bookstore opening up in the Lynnhaven Mall tomorrow, so me and Ryan are gonna go check it out. Should be fun. Tonight I saw a commercial for "Big Fish" coming out on dvd. Anybody out there wanna get me a copy? Hehehe. Cheerio.

(3:04am) Listening to Damien Rice. Getting ready for bed. I'm going to the dentist again to (hopefully) get my permanent crown put on this tooth. I've had the temporary on it for quite some time. The last two times I went in for the permanent, they messed up and it didn't look right so they made me wait longer for it. If all goes according to plan, third time's the charm, right? La de da. I read an interview with Sam Beam (Iron & Wine) today. And I ate some popcorn.

(5:53pm) Listening to Eisley. Much fun was had this past week! High points were hanging with my pals of Relient K and The Rocket Summer for two whole days, recording lots of bits of new songs, house-sitting with two rad dogs and a cute kitty, and seeing The Shins make an appearance on The Gilmore Girls. (12:52am) Just finished watching "High Fidelity" again. Earlier I listened to Erin Mckeown. Third rainy day in a row, so we slept in, and went around to a bunch of thrift stores, and over to Planet Music. Tomorrow we're gonna hit up Cinema Cafe, should be fun. I got a great book in the bargain bin at Barnes & Noble the other night, methinks I'm gonna read a bit of it now. Say hey in the forum!

(4:55am) Listening to Rocketship. Holy socks! It is laaate. I got back from Ryan's about two hours ago, and he said I wasn't gonna get tonight's journal up before I went to bed, and yet here it is! HA! Take THAT, Rybones! Anyways, we had a big ol surprise party for our pal Heather, who got home for spring break tonight, and it was bunches of fun. (1:20am) Listening to Nick Drake. I got a late start today, so I spent quite a bit of time cleaning out my email box and attempting to get caught up with some work. I feel productive, though I didn't accomplish everything I wanted to. Took a short break for lunch/dinner to visit with Doug, then picked up George and went to the Denny's house where much fun was had. It's almost the weekend! Huzzah!

(1:04am) Listening to The Apples In Stereo. Took it easy today, did some reading and drawing and then spent some time working at Harold's. Watched some "West Wing" after church at Ryan's, then came home and worked on some more comic ideas. It was a pretty slow and laid back day, probably cuz of the rain.

(2:43am) Listening to Beck (quietly). Just got off the phone with my sister Cara who's coming to visit next week! Gonna be fuuuunnn. I was at the dentist's for over 4 hours today, and now have one tooth rebuilt, and a temporary crown on the other one, so technically, I've got my two teeth again, haha - I've gotta go back for the real crown on April first. So I'll be eating lots of soup and pudding and soft things for a few weeks. Right now it's really late and I'm super sleepy, so I'm going to re-read the Richard Sala interview in an old issue of the Comics Journal and fall asleep. Woot!

(8:43pm) Listening to Beulah. Saturday morning I had a partial root canal done on the worst of my two shattered teeth, and this morning I had that finished and they started to rebuild the tooth. Tomorrow morning I go back for them to hopefully finish this one and get started on the other. It's been an odd couple of days, and I look really silly without my front teeth, haha! I can't even begin to tell you all how thankful I am for my church family here, who are taking care of my dental bills to get me fixed up and normal looking again - extra heaps of special thanks go out to the Sauls for letting me spend the past few nights there so as to be closer to the dentist's office, the Reeves for pointing me in the direction of some dentists who know their stuff, and the Dennys for helping me keep my spirits high :-) Apart from the "excitement" of this journal post, hah, it's exciting for another reason as well - this is the 600th cartoon journal strip I've posted on toddbot.com! Can you believe it? I sure cant! So I'll have to think of some way we can celebrate... Feel free to post any ideas over in the forum! Okay, well I'm gonna go do a bit of reading and eat some more soup. Haha! Love you lots!

(3:48am) Listening to "Love Is Hell: Part 1" by Ryan Adams. I feel like I missed an entire day, though tonight I got to hang out with Doug which was fun. Tons to do tomorrow to get caught up though... I think I've figured out why I haven't been able to sleep - my guess is it's been too hot up here in my attic abode. Last night I put my fan on high before I went to sleep and BOOM i was out like a light for a LONG time, haha. Hopefully I'm just about caught up on all the sleep I've been missing out on... I'm trying really hard to get onto a new schedule to increase productivity, cuz I wanna get some new books done and out there this year. Awrighty, back to bed I go. Leave a note in the forum!

(2:35am) Listening to "Transatlanticism" by Death Cab For Cutie. The more I listen to this cd the more I like it. This past week has been awesome! So much fun has been had, I can't even begin to report it all. The coffeehouse at church was a blast. Working with Craig and Mike on a skit and a song was a riot. Playing "Cranium" til 2am at Angela's was a hoot. It's just been a fun few days. If all goes according to plan, I'll be able to keep up my journal again, now that I'm back in the groove, haha.

(2:55am) Listening to Eisley. Last night I got to see the amazing Howie Day at the Norva with my pal Jessica. He was AWESOME. I'm still in a bit of shock over the whole thing, haha! Prior to the show, I dropped off a package of comics and goodies for him, I know his tour manager got them, I'm hoping they made it to Howie alright! So Travis talked me into updating my journal at last - you can all thank him over in the forum! Hahaha! More to come soon. Have a super Saturday! (9:25pm) Listening to Eisley! Things here have been pretty bonkers trying to get a ton done before Christmas. Here's three more long-delayed journal strips - hopefully more will go up tomorrow. (12:36am) Listening to Travis. Today was insane. Me, Ricky, and Johnny battled it out in the first ever match of "Backyard Death Swing" after church. It. Was. Rad. We made up a points system for all the insane moves and after much pain and suffering, I am happy to report that I emerged triumphant, with a grand total of 546 points, just above Johnny's 454 and Ricky's 360. I'll post the points system we made up in the forum so you all can make fun of our tomfoolery later on, haha. For now, I'm off to bed!

Did some more drawing then went to Jessica's party. Just now finished watching a Michael Keaton movie about the Persian Gulf War on HBO. I don't know what it was called, but it was a good film.

Hopefully by this afternoon I'll get around to it. I can tell you that the sale will involve cool things like a new 32 page mini-comic, original watercolor paintings, and some new music of sorts! I'm also getting stuff together for the big fundraising sale for next week - I need to make enough to get a new computer as soon as possible because mine could die for good any day now. Just a bit ago I got back from seeing "Master and Commander" with Mike, Ricky, Jon, Preston, and Johnny. It was pretty good, but not as super-fun as "Pirates..." was. Russel Crowe was cool though.

(3:47am) I've come to the conclusion that my 2-day sickness has thrown off my entire schedule this week. It's been pretty messed up. But I've still managed to get stuff done, so that is good. Among other things, today I finished the paste-ups for one of the new minis. I hope to print it up tomorrow... I've gotta get a new computer real soon, so I'll be selling lots of drawings and stuff soon, more on that when I'm a bit more awake. Don't forget to drop a line in the forum!

(1:21am) Now we're getting somewhere! It's about 1:30. Not midnight, but a heckuvalot closer than 3am was! At the moment I am feeling almost healthy again and listening to New Order. (2:47am) Listening to Caulfield (that's me!). It's real late and I'm sleepy so this'll be a quickee. Today I recorded what is officially my first solo song. It's pretty rockin, and I like it a lot, but it's just not the same making music without my partner in crime from Connecticut. I'm really looking forward to visiting home for Christmas! I miss my buddy and I miss my family and I can't wait to see everyone.

(3:06am) Watching the new Coldplay Live 2003 dvd - it is awesome! I was gonna go see the new Matrix but decided the money was better spent on Coldplay. I'm more than happy with my decision. Anyways, I'll have a new minicomic available next week, so stay tuned for more info on that. Happy weekend!

(11:30pm) I've been reading a lot more lately than I have in a long time, and I'm really enjoying it. Today was rainy outside and it made me sleepy. I've been getting a lot of coloring work done, and am almost finished with coloring the latest Acredale story for Harold. Check it out (just keep in mind my coloring on it will look way better in the printed versions than on his site, as he reduces the .gif files down to within a 20 color range) If you like my comics I think you'll like Harold's a lot too, so give it a read! This weekend I think I am going to start recording some new songs. I've been hit with the ol' inspiration bug. By the way, those flies I fought off today were HUGE! I killed six of them today, and eight of them yesterday! I don't know where they're coming from, but they definitely don't like me...
